Resilience For Everyone
You may have heard a similar script in your mind, running on repeat.
I’m not good enough…
I’m the exception to the rule…
I’ll always come up short…
I have the worst luck…
Life has it in for me…
I’m such an idiot…
If not, that’s great. But if any of these statements resonated, I want you to know that you are normal, not broken. We live in a harsh world, one that sometimes feeds us enough negativity to have us believe we are less worthy than everyone else. When others appear to have everything held together, we don’t see the turmoil that is possibly brewing under the surface. We see the smile, we don’t hear the negative thoughts running through a hurting mind.
Remember this; we are all out here, doing the best we can, navigating a challenging world and wondering if we’re doing it right. Nobody has all the answers.
Resilience doesn't only belong to those who are born to a certain situation, or have the flashiest backstory, or have the most confidence. In fact, if you are fighting for more confidence, strength or belief in yourself, you have a priceless opportunity to catalyze your pain into power.
If you want strength, reach out and take it.
If you want resilience, put your mind to it and build it.
Your story doesn’t define you, nor do your opportunities. Resilience belongs to anyone willing to do the hard work, dive into their darkness with bravery and perseverance and make the best of all this life has to offer, no matter how much the process hurts. Face every day with an open heart and steady mind.
If you think you’re the exception to some of the rules, you’re not alone, I used to believe the same thing. I used to think I was never going to be good enough, that I was born without something the rest of the world had. I used to firmly believe that where I’m standing now, as the person I am today, was impossible to reach. I’m here to tell you that there is no human on this earth to whom the rule that we are all equally worthy and powerful does not apply. Every single person is deserving of healing and capable of catalyzing pain into power that can in turn be used to lift everyone else who is hurting up to a higher level.
Get the idea that you aren’t good enough out of your mind and start playing around with the fact that you can overcome any challenges that stand in your way. As soon as you wholeheartedly believe that, your process becomes one of creative solution building instead of talking yourself down from stepping into your full power. Replace the negative self talk with the knowledge that you are just as worthy, capable and powerful as the most successful people on earth.
Resilience isn’t for people who are better than you. It’s your birthright. All you need to do is make the decision to step into it and learn how to change your negative beliefs into patterns that make you absolutely unstoppable.
